Teh sex
Sometimes it's ok to pimp yourself out. Post a list of your top five fic-favorites you've written, regardless of fandom or the reason you love them. This isn't about the BEST things you've written, but what you LOVE most. Then tag five other people to do the same.

*I'm not tagging anybody*

Ok, I got tagged by crossbow1 and decided to try and do this. And this is actually tougher than it looks. I love all my stories - they're like my children - I've nurtured them, groomed them and then finally set them free upon the world when they were ready. I even love the slow, stupid ones.

So, in no particular order - here are (I guess) my top five.

1. Nine Months of Trouble. This was written when I was nicely ensconsed in the Nsync fandom. Good times. Good times. A full-blown pregnancy story where I made 4 out of the 5 bandmembers pregnant. I had so much fun writing it, really using the trials and tribulations of my own pregnancy as my inspiration. I look back on this now and I really think I pulled it off - I still find a lot of amusing... http://girlaintright.com/ninemo.htm

2. Fallen. Nsync again. This time a slash AU. See, here's the thing. I read this story in high school about an angel that falls to earth and is basically treated like crap because he's different. That concept (although not the details of the story) has always stayed with me. I remember being really blown away by it at the time, really angry. Anyway, if you've ever seen REM's video for Losing My Religion, you'll see that they use the concept. So, this story was my homage to that one, I guess. There's a lot I wouldn't mind going back and fixing, but I'm pretty proud of the way that it turned out... http://girlaintright.com/fallen.htm

3. Animus. This time we're in the Harry Potter realm. This was kind of my opus for this fandom. I tend to write an opus in every fandom that I play around in - something long and character-driven with lots of angst and a building, organic relationship. Or that's what I try to do. Animus is the one in Harry Potter. You'll notice a theme in my writing - I'm completely fascinated with unequal relationships in fiction. Master/slave, john/prostitute, things like that. Anything where one person holds more power over the other. It fascinates me. So in this story, not only do we have an uneven relationship, but one in which the main characters really, sort of hate each other. Oh, and they're massively fucked up. Both of them. I wrote this one in 1st person from Harry's POV and looking back on it, I think I did really well with his voice. Some people really hated him in the first few chapters which was a great compliment to me, because he was a bastard. Anyway, I wanted to see if I could get them together in some semblance of a loving relationship. Or even the start of one. I think I succeeded. This also happens to be my most commented on fic... http://www.girlaintright.com/animus.htm

4. Confessions of a Skin Thief. My first time writing in the Supernatural fandom. The narrator is a complete bastard, but he's a funny, sarcastic bastard, and his voice was fun to write. It's actually not a nice story, and yet it somehow doesn't come off as repugnant as it should. I've written a few stories in this fandom that are better (much) and yet this one holds a special place in my heart... http://girlaintright.com/confessions.htm

5. Sleeping Beauty Redux. Now we're in the MCR fandom. Or bandom. Whatever. This is just a little bit of mindless fluff. It was quick, easy and I think really cute and it just sort of makes me smile whenever I re-read it. If this story had cheeks, I would pinch it... http://isolde13.livejournal.com/156972.html#cutid1

There they are. Like I said, I love all my stories, so this was really hard. If I did this again in 3 months, I'd probably have different answers.

Wow. The only one of those I've read is Sleeping Beauty. I can't believe that "Up Against Your Will."

I'm like the only writer (and I use the term loosely) on the entire planet who doesn't think of my work as my children, I think. I guess it's because my really personal work is my painting. Writing is just entertainment. That's while I'll never be famous, I guess.

Yeah, they're all my little babies. Every single one. Some were harder to give birth to than others and some never did quite live up to their potential.

You know, as much as I'm happy with UAYW, I don't know that I love it the most. It's hard to say. By next week, I might be choosing that one. Or it could be This is Not a Love Song. Maybe it's because I don't do fluff very often that that one stands out for me right now.

See all the stuff you have to read, though? lol. Actually, out of all of those - Animus is probably the best one. I know that you yourself wrote in HP, so you'd definitely appreciate it more than others would.

I'm gonna read Animus for sure. Probably not the Nsync ones, though. I didn't like their music so I never bothered to get to know the individuals.

I think you'll like it, but there's definitely some grammatical errors. I keep meaning to get in there and fix em.

It was pretty good, definitely better than 99.9% of HP fic, but I liked other stuff you've done better. At the time I left the HP fandom, the "Draco is a prostitute and Harry hires him" thing was like every third fic, so I guess I kind of OD'd on it.

PS. And ever SECOND fic was "Draco is a veela and he's in heat." Because apparently male veelas do that. Just like male werewolves and elves get preg -

wtf. My cat just turned on my stereo.

It's playing Avenue Q.

I am so sorry, but I don't have them all archived anywhere. I really need to get on that. That being said, they're all on my LJ from about a year to two years ago. It's really not that far back, I don't post all that much.
